Additional Degrees & Concentrations

(BS/Minor/Assoc) - The field of bioengineering harnesses the design and analysis principles of engineering to biological systems and biomedical technologies—then creating operational, tangible, economically viable products. Students will train in fundamentals of both biology and engineering, which may include elements of electrical and mechanical engineering, computer science, chemistry and biology.
(Assoc) - A degree in biomedical science combines the fields of biology and medicine—with an intent focus on the health of both animals and humans. Students will study anatomical and histological structures biochemical and physiological functions, pharmacology and epidemiology--learning how to apply these principles to both maintain and promote human and animal health in the basics of nutrition, diseases and immunology.

(Concentration) - The medicinal chemistry specialization focuses drug design/development, drug synthesis and pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis. Students will be trained in traditional chemistry disciplines as well as garnering a fundamental understanding of the chemical, biological and pharmacological actions of pharmaceuticals and biomedical products.

(Assoc) - The field of biomedical equipment technology focuses on the functionality of medical equipment found in labs, hospitals and clinics. Students pursuing this degree will learn how to operate, maintain, configure this specialty equipment—providing the necessary skillset to safely operate and maintain medical machinery, as well as train others.
(Concentration) - A concentration in medical laboratory services will train students to work in a variety of medical laboratories. Students typically focus on specific lab setting of their choosing—with specializations ranging from blood chemistry, to urinalysis, to microbiology.
