About HATCH
HATCH for Hunger is a nonprofit organization closing the protein gap across America’s charitable food system — partnering with producers, processors, and food banks to deliver high-quality protein at scale. We’re a fast-moving, purpose-driven team, building systems and partnerships to make a measurable impact on food insecurity nationwide.
Role Overview
The Logistics & Operations Coordinator is a key connector across HATCH’s supply chain — serving as the day-to-day point of contact for food bank customers while ensuring seamless coordination between producers, freight partners, and food bank customers. This individual will own logistics and freight coordination, order entry, customer service, and invoice and bill tracking to keep product moving efficiently from farm to family.
Key Responsibilities
· Coordinate logistics and freight — track on-time deliveries, manage PODs and BOLs, request and track freight rates, and execute tenders.
· Track freight performance, delivery timing, and carrier reliability.
· Manage order entry — process incoming orders from food bank partners and execute to farm producers and protein partners, ensuring timely entry and follow-up.
· Serve as the primary customer service contact for operational and delivery inquiries.
· Maintain invoice tracking and order confirmations.
· Enter and track bills from our protein partners, ensuring accuracy.
· Support the COO and VP of Operations with weekly supply/demand planning, execution, and reporting.
Qualifications
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s in supply chain, logistics, business, or equivalent experience.
· 3+ years of experience in logistics, freight coordination, operations, or customer service — ideally in food, agriculture, or manufacturing.
· Hands-on experience with freight documentation (BOLs, PODs), rate requests, and tender execution.
· Familiarity with ERP and/or TMS systems (Acumatica, NetSuite, SAP, or similar).
· Strong communication and coordination skills; able to manage multiple stakeholders and timelines.
· Proficiency with Excel and Power BI preferred.
· Passion for mission-driven work and improving food access across communities.
· Nonprofit or food bank experience a plus but not required.
· Calm, organized problem solver who can resolve delivery exceptions and potential freight claims.
· Basic AP/accounting literacy a plus.
· Comfortable working in an ambiguous, scaling environment.
