Responsibilities
- Receive soybeans and wheat delivered for seed.
- Assist in taking calls from soybean and wheat growers.
- Help set up inspections of soybeans and wheat seed field.
- Perform inspections of fields as needed.
- Establish and maintain relationships with new and current growers.
- Assist in all aspects of grower relations including contracts, acreage allocation, and field quality issues as they arise throughout the season.
- Assist in training and educating growers in the policies and procedures required in seed production to provide highest quality seed.
- Collaborate with various agencies to assure all standards are met for seed quality.
- Maintain current knowledge on planting and harvesting practices as well other environmental issues related to all phases of seed production such as disease, insects, weeds, etc.
- Support the Soybean and Wheat Grower Director or Production Location Manager in functions as needed.
- Perform other related duties as may be required by the Soybean and Wheat Grower Director or Production Location Manager.
Job Requirements
1. Education and training:
- Bachelor of Science in an agricultural related field preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy preferred.
- CDL or Chauffer license or equivalent may be required.
2. Technical knowledge:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess positive attitude.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, work as a team member, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
- Basic computer and current software skills.

4. Travel and hours of work:
- Overnight travel may be required based on project needs at Beck’s regional locations and may vary in duration of time.
5. Experience:
- One to two (1-2) years’ experience in field planting.
6. Physical Demands
- Ability to pass DOT physical examination and obtain Medical Examiner’s Certificate may be required.
