This role is responsible for driving sales growth by translating technical product knowledge into value-based solutions for customers. This includes supporting sales efforts through technical presentations, product demonstrations, and collaboration with executive leadership, Plant Operations, and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is a technically-minded communicator with experience in food ingredients and a passion for innovation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Act as the technical liaison between R&amp;D, Sales, and prospective and current customers.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate ingredient functionality, performance, and benefits to a variety of audiences including customers, senior leadership, and operations teams.<\/li>\n<li>Lead and support technical presentations and product demonstrations for customers and at industry events.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with the R&amp;D team to understand and apply technical data, formulation performance, and product specifications in customer-facing engagements.<\/li>\n<li>Identify and assess customer needs, propose ingredient solutions, and support application development.<\/li>\n<li>Partner with Operations and Manufacturing teams to ensure customer requirements are met through scale-up, production trials, and commercialization.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain strong knowledge of industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory considerations.<\/li>\n<li>Support the development of technical sales materials, including product sheets, usage guidelines, and training content.<\/li>\n<li>Provide ongoing customer support and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment of commercial strategy with technical capabilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Qualifications:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in food science, Food Chemistry, Nutrition, or related field (master\u2019s preferred).<\/li>\n<li>3+ years of experience in ingredient technical sales, R&amp;D, or technical service within the food and beverage industry.<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of food ingredient functionality and formulation principles.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, customer-friendly language.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working directly with customers, operations, and senior leadership.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to travel as needed to customer sites, industry events, and Heartland facilities (up to 30%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Physical Demands:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to work seated using a computer and phone for long periods of time.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend.<\/li>\n<li>Must possess visual acuity to document company records.<\/li>\n<li>Continuous walking throughout plant and distribution center.<\/li>\n<li>Lifting up to 40 pounds.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_jet_sm_ready_style":"","_jet_sm_style":"","_jet_sm_controls_values":"","_jet_sm_fonts_collection":"","_jet_sm_fonts_links":"","_promoted":"","_company_name":"Heartland Food Products Group","_company_website":"","_filled":0,"_featured":0,"_remote_position":0,"_job_salary":"","_job_salary_currency":"","_job_salary_unit":""},"job-categories":[24,31,16],"job-types":[2],"job_listing_tag":[9],"class_list":["post-687","job_listing","type-job_listing","status-expired","hentry","job_listing_category-chemistry","job_listing_category-food-science","job_listing_category-sales","job_listing_type-full-time","job_listing_tag-early-career","job-type-full-time"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.9 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Ingredient Technical Sales Representative - Field Atlas Job Board<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/myfieldatlas.com\/jobs\/?post_type=job_listing&p=687\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_US\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Ingredient Technical Sales Representative - Field Atlas Job Board\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"Heartland Food Products Group is a dynamic, fast-growing organization committed to making a positive impact in the world.
