Overview of Position: <\/b>The purpose of the position is to apply products safely and accurately to a wide range of labeled crops and sites from recommendations made by the Manager\/Salesperson.\u00a0 This position also operates and maintains Company equipment involved in these applications.\u202f This includes building and maintaining customer relations through application of products and providing feedback to customers and location manager of field conditions that they note during application.\u00a0 Upon annual performance evaluations, this position could lead to a Custom Applicator position.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Duties and Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n
    \n
  • Provides quality application\u00a0of dry fertilizer products and lime\u00a0to customers in a safe and\u00a0efficient\u00a0manner.<\/li>\n
  • Utilize the information supplied and the technology in the application equipment to ensure that the right products at the right rates are applied to the right fields and customers.<\/li>\n
  • Assist\u00a0in the mixing, loading,\u00a0unloading,\u00a0and transporting\u00a0of\u00a0crop\u00a0protection and fertilizer products.<\/li>\n
  • Consistently follows all laws, regulations, and safety rules\u00a0(including PPE)\u00a0in handling and applying products.<\/li>\n
  • Obtains\/maintains\u00a0state commercial applicator certification and stays current with requirements.<\/li>\n
  • Performs daily inspection of equipment prior to field applications and post application inspections.<\/li>\n
  • Maintains safety equipment in\u00a0optimum\u00a0condition in the applicator equipment and immediate work area; follows all safety regulations and guidelines.<\/li>\n
  • Maintains the\u00a0appropriate applicator\u00a0and equipment logs and ensures they are kept up to date.<\/li>\n
  • Performs the required\u00a0calibration and\u00a0preventive maintenance\u00a0recommended for the equipment.<\/li>\n
  • Comply\u00a0with\u00a0regulatory guidelines in rinsing\u00a0and washing down both in the field and at the\u00a0location.<\/li>\n
  • Assist\u00a0other\u00a0team members\u00a0in various physical duties necessary in running an agricultural location.<\/li>\n
  • Assist\u00a0with\u00a0operational\u00a0scouting, product transportation and\u00a0various services\u00a0for\u00a0customers.<\/li>\n
  • Follow Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    Required Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    \n
      \n
    • High School graduate or GED; may be offset by experience.<\/li>\n
    • Valid driver\u2019s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review\u00a0in accordance with\u00a0Company policy.<\/li>\n
    • Must obtain and\u00a0maintain\u00a0required\u00a0state commercial applicator certification as required by\u00a0state.<\/li>\n
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Ag CDL.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

        \n
      • Communicate\u00a0effectively\u00a0with\u00a0team members\u00a0and customers\u00a0and represent Keystone in a professional and courteous manner.<\/li>\n
      • Ability to read, count, write, and to\u00a0utilize\u00a0technology\u00a0to accurately complete all documentation, including understanding shipping\/applicator orders and tickets, product labels,\u00a0SDS\u00a0sheets,\u00a0warning signs and emergency procedures.<\/li>\n
      • Basic mechanical skills for daily maintenance of equipment preferred.<\/li>\n
      • Be familiar with crop chemicals,\u00a0nutrients,\u00a0farming practices,\u00a0and\u00a0crop characteristics.<\/li>\n
      • Possess the willingness to adapt to changing application technologies as well as seasonal variations in workload responsibilities.<\/li>\n
      • Use technology to accurately\u00a0locate\u00a0application\u00a0sites\u00a0and read field maps.<\/li>\n
      • Must be a team player and enjoy the effort necessary to contribute to a successful operation and company.<\/li>\n
      • Required overtime as\u00a0the season demands.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
