Indiana Farmers Insurance is looking for a Claims Representative I – Auto to join our Claims Team. The right candidate will reside in Indiana, Illinois or Ohio.
The Claims Representative I – Auto is responsible for investigating, evaluating and negotiating low to mid-level auto property damage claims. The right candidate will have excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving approach to handling claims. As a Claims Representative I – Auto with Indiana Farmers Insurance, you will support our vision by driving prompt, fair claims resolutions.

Qualifications and Responsibilities for the Claims Representative I include – Auto:
- Bachelor’s degree or related work experience, preferred
- Basic understanding of insurance concepts
- Prior auto physical damage claim handling, preferred
- Solid problem solving and decision-making skills
- Strong written and oral communication with policyholders, claimants, and agents regarding coverage and liability decisions
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency
- Professional yet friendly demeanor, understands the importance of listening to understand
- Able to cope with difficult situations from time to time
- Ability to appropriately set customer expectations early in the claims process
- Bilingual, a plus
